THORPE — Sally Louise Kapish, age 82, of 98 Peyton Place (PO
Box 73), Thorpe, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, September
27, 2012 at Charleston Area Medical Center.
Born on August 8, 1930 at Wilcoe, she was a daughter of the
late John and Carrie Sowers Sparks. She had been a resident
of Thorpe for all of her life and was of the Methodist
faith. She was a graduate of Gary High School and formerly
worked as Treasurer for the City of Gary. She was a devoted
wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a
sister, Peggy Morgan; and a grandson, Lawrence Elmer Estep.
Survivors include: Husband of 62 years: Lawrence L. Kapish
of the home; one daughter: Linda Dillon of Wytheville, Va.;
two grandchildren: Sherri Green of Morgantown and Scott
Estep of Concord, N.C.; three great-grandchildren: Brittany,
Brianna, and Brooklyn Green of Morgantown.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 1,
2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel
in Bluewell with the Rev. Steve Alderman officiating. Burial
will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where
family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the
funeral home.
