CARL M. SVETLECIC

 

ABB’S VALLEY, Va. — Carl M. Svetlecic, 88, of Bluefield, Va. (Abb's Valley), passed away, Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, Va. Born in Gary, W.Va., he was the son of the late Joseph Svetlecic and Pauline Pinter. He was employed as a Lamp Attendant in Mining and was an MP in the US Army during WWII.  He was also a  member of the Catholic Church in Princeton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Svetlecic.

Survivors include one sister, Betty Blevins of Hickory, N.C.; three nephews, Edward Seggerson and wife, Karen of Northville, Mich., and John and Patrick Duncan of Ill.; six neices, Rosemary Watts and Delores Hunsberger of Illinois, Mary Dawson, Jackie Wahle, Delores Sweezy and Pauline Bostain, all of Hickory, N.C.; and companion, Betty Poszich of Abb's Valley, Va.

 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Bluewell, W.Va. with Deacon Don Hammond officiating. Friends and family will meet at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Bluewell, W.Va. The Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va. is serving the Svetlecic family.
