JAMES TITUS "JIM" LANE
NORTHFORK — James Titus “Jim” Lane, age 77, of Northfork,
W.Va., died March 20, 2012 at his residence. He was born Dec. 24, 1934 in
Elbert, W.Va. He was the son of the late David Lane and Eliza Emmert Kile.
He was affiliated with the Protestant Faith. He was a graduate of
Gary High School,
class of 1952. He received his Bachelors Degree in 1956
from Marshall University, and later he received his Degree in Teaching
from West Virginia University. He was a McDowell County Educator, he taught
at Gary High School for
eight years. He was principal at Big Creek High School for four years, and
was principal at Northfork High School for 21 years. He loved playing
golf, and was an avid golfer for the past 52 years.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Louis Lane; two sisters, Nettie Thomas and Dorothy Crites. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy Hughes Lane of Surfside Beach, S.C.; two sons, James David Lane of Las Vegas, Nev., William Allen Lane of Butner, N.C.; four nephews, Robert "Bob" Thomas and wife, Gloria, of Pensacola, Fla., Phillip Thomas and wife, Dawn, of Cleveland, Tenn., Larry Lane and wife, JoAnn, of Welch, W.Va., Louis Scott Lane of Welch, W.Va.; and one niece, Brenda Reed and husband, Carl, of Brushfork, W.Va. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Bluewell, W.Va. with the Rev. Lacy Brooks officiating. Friends may call at the Mausoleum 30 minutes prior to service. Arrangements are by Widener Funeral Home, Northfork, W.Va.
