WELCH — Walter Joseph Ketz, 82, of Welch, died
Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. Born
March 19, 1930 in Gary, W.Va., he was the son of the late Anton Ketz and Nevie
Boozer Ketz. He was a 1948 graduate of Gary High School and was a member of
Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Gary. Walter was retired from U.S.
Steel Gary No. 2 Cleaning Plant and was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in
the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Victoria Ketz; and three brothers,
Tony Ketz, Billy Ketz, and Raymond Ketz preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Ketz; two sons, Joe Ketz and Jeff Ketz;
one sister, Christine Quattrone and husband, Jim of Princeton; three nephews,
Tony Ray Ketz, Michael Quattrone, and Paul Quattrone; three nieces, Lisa
Sanders, Theresa Beard, and Tina Quattrone; and special friend and caregiver,
Sylvia Wright.
In keeping with Walter's wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial service
will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the George W.
Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Father Paul Wharton
officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Park Cemetery in Bluewell. Friends
may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on
Saturday.
