WELCH — Julius C. Gergely, 87 of Welch, WV died peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at Midland Meadows Senior Living in Ona, W.Va.  He was born in Thorpe, W.Va. on March 21, 1924 and was the son of the late Steve Gergely and Anna (Kaminski) Gergely.  Julius was retired from U. S. Steel Corporation in Gary, W.Va. where he worked for many years. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Welch, W.Va.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Whitely) Gergely; brothers, Steve, Frank, Bill and Joseph; and sisters, Sister Ann Therese, Margaret and Irinki.

Survivors include his sons, Terry Gergely (wife Cheryl) of Ona, W.Va., and Kevin Gergely (wife Aimee) of Boise, Idaho; and daughter Lisa Gergely of Charlotte, N.C. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Gergely of Gary, W.Va.; and grandchildren, Rachel and Allison of Ona, W.Va. and Nathan of Boise, Idaho; and special family, Irene Sash of Gary, W.Va.

Family and friends will gather at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel in Princeton, W.Va. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with a graveside service to follow at 11:00 a.m.. with Father Paul Manickathan, officiating.
