RUTHER GLEN —  John Robert Goss, 68, of Ruther Glen, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his home after battling cancer for a year and a half. 

Born in Anawalt, W.Va., he had retired as a salesman for Hostess.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta A. Goss; two sons, Bobby Goss and his wife, Benta of Stafford and Chris Goss and his wife, Rebecca of Broadnax; a daughter, Dawn Cobb and her husband, Mike of Ladysmith; a brother, Jesse Goss; three sisters, Beryl Barker, Lorraine Sullivan, and Becky Simmons; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Bucky Goss, Kat Hall, and Nancy Fitterman

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Storke Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Va., with a memorial service at 7 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Mount Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South Kings Highway, Alexandria, VA 22306.
