FALLS Mills, Va., formerly of Anawalt, W.Va, died Monday, July 11, 2011, at home surrounded by her beloved

 children following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

 

Born on Nov. 18, 1932 in Thorpe, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Horvith DonchatzShe was a devoted mother and homemaker who worked briefly at a clothing store in Welch. Having spen most of her life in the O'toole section of McDowell County, she relocated to Tazewell County in 2003. Shedevoted her life to her beloved children, and her family. She was the youngest member of a largeHungarian family. Her father came to West Virginia from Hungary to work in a McDowell County coal mine.She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling with her children.

 She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond Donchatz, Joe Donchatz, James Donchatz, Frank Donchatz, Steve Donchatz, Charlie Donchatz and Ernest Donchatz; sister, Helen Donchatz Magyar and her husband Steve Magyar; her husband, Charles William Owens; and cousins, Catherine Donchatz, Anna Domyan, Frank Domyan and Jessee Domyan. She is survived by her son, Charles Robert “Bobby” Owens of Falls Mills; her daughter, Lisa Ann Dillon, and her husband Paul of Falls Mills; and by her cousins, Mary Jane Kennedy of Anawalt, Paul Kennedy of Anawalt, Frank “Bubby” Donchatz of Alexandria, Va., Jimmy Donchatz of Alexandria, Va., Charles Donchatz, and his wife Carol of South Carolina, Ginger Donchatz Evans and her husband Richard Evans of Bluefield, Ann De Marie of Dover, Del.; and other nieces and nephews.

 Funeral service will be held for Mrs. Owens on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield, W.Va. with Father Paul J. Wharton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, W.Va. Friends and family called at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va. from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2011 with a Christian wake service at 7:00 p.m. with Father Paul J.
