LAWRENCE DAMON PARKER December 22,1936-June 4, 2011 Lawrence Damon Parker, 74 of Enterprise, AL, formally from Virginia Beach, VA, passed away June 4, 2011 at home after a long illness. He was surrounded by his family. Mr. Parker lived in Munson, West Virginia, and went to Gary High School, and was of the Class of 1956. Mr. Parker was a 22 year Navy retiree, E6 Pipefitter. He entered the US.Navy on Jan 5, 1955. Je served aboard the Navy shpes. U.S.S. Mitscher, U.S.S. Bearss, U.S.S. Excel, U.S.S Everglades, U.S.S. Connole, and ended his tour retiring from the Naval Air Station, Norfolk, VA. Mr. Parker spend three tours of duty in Vietnam, two on Minesweepers and one inland aboard river boats at Dong Tam. No funeral services will be held at this time. His ashes will be scattered at sea by the Navy at a later date. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his Father Charles and Mother Bonnie Parker Voni: Stepmother, Helen K. Parker; as well as his brother Charles and Step-brother Jerry Parker. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joretta, two daughters, Tonya Turk (Keith) of Enterprise, Regan Yates (Brett) of Roswell, Ga., 1 Brother James Parker of Enterprise, 3 sisters in law, Alma Burgoyne, (Gail), of Rupert, ID., Luana Coleman (Larry) of Havaco, WV., Elizabeth Parker (Jerry) of Salisbury, NC.. He also left behind two grandsons, Billy Hanley of Enterprise, AL and Michael Hanley of Virginia Beach, VA. and several Nieces and Nephews.
