BLUEFIELD — Andrew John Shulock Jr., age 78, of 3690 Coal
Heritage Road, Apartment #9, died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Bluefield
Regional Medical Center.
Born on May 9, 1934, in Gary, he was a son of the late Andrew john Shulock Sr.
and Bessie Kish Shulock. He was a resident of Mercer County for the past 20
years after relocating from Gary #6 in McDowell County. He was a coal miner
and a UMWA member. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. He was a member of the
Loyal Order of the Moose. He loved archery, football, and basketball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelva
Young; sons, Christopher Shulock, Andrew Shulock III, and Steven Shulock I;
sister, Mary Shulock Kuzmanoff.
Survivors include: Son: Gerald Steven Shulock II of Philippi, W.Va.;
daughters: Andrea Lynn Shulock Kelley of Philippi, W.Va. and Felicia Ann
Shulock Muncy of Philippi, W.Va.; stepdaughters: Danallai Humphries of North
Carolina and Fonda Britt of North Carolina; former wife: Jane Thomas of
Bluewell; sister: Bessie Shulock Soltesz of Avenel, N.J.; eight grandchildren
and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.
at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Deacon Don Hammond
officiating. Burial will follow on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial
Park in Bluewell. Pallbearers will be Daman Jack Kelley, John Christopher
Kelley, Lewis Burke, and Gary Vanover. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on
Saturday.
