BLUEFIELD — James Daniel Folks, age 70, of Route 1 Box 468,
Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at a
Bluefield hospital.Born on July 21, 1938, he was a son of the late
James Andrew and Louise Herald Lively Folks. He had only been a
resident of Bluefield for two months and was of the Pentecostal
Holiness faith. Formerly living in Tampa, Fla.,
James was retired from the maintenance department at Tampa
General Hospital. He was an exceptional painter and was very proud and
particular with his work. He enjoyed fishing and his Harley-Davidson
motorcycle
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters,
Janet and Cathy Ann Folks; and a sister, Ruth Crawford.Survivors
include his wife, Juanita Rose Folks of the home; two daughters, Donna
Furr of Ind. and Loretta Rogers of Denton, Texas; three sons, James
Andrew Folks of Jacksonville, Fla., Michael Folks of Ashland, Ohio,
and Daniel Folks of Ashland, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren; two brothers, the Rev. Ernest Folks and wife
Deborah of Bramwell, and Walter Folks and wife Kathy of Bedford, Va.;
and two sisters, Marie Morris of Lake Dallas, Texas, and Rebecca
Barnett of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 1:00
p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with his brother,
the Rev. Ernest Folks officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn
Memorial gardens in Princeton.Friends may call on Wednesday evening
