BLUEFIELD — Carol Pauline Wilson, 75, of Bluefield, W.Va., died
Friday October 22, 2010 at a Roanoke hospital.
Born September 26, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John Paul Mundy and
Tina Marie Bagwell Mundy. Mrs. Wilson was a lifelong resident of the Bluefield
area, and had retired from Bluefield Distributing Company. She was a very
active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bluefield. She was a member
of Our Ladies of Italy and The Red Hat Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wetzel
Winston Wilson in 2002; one brother, Earl Mundy; and one sister, Allie Mundy.
Survivors include her children, Paula Lynn Wilson of St. Albans, W.Va. and
Patricia Lea Wilson Atwell and her husband Aaron of Troutville, Va.; three
grandchildren, Cassi Lea Atwell of Roanoke, Va., Brooke Lawrence and her
husband Chance of Daleville, Va. and Lauren Atwell of Troutville; three
great-grandchildren, Logan Lawrence, Jaden Markum and Jared Atwell; one
sister, Linda Hager of Bluefield, W.Va.; one brother-in-law, Thomas Wilson and
his wife Peggy of Greensboro, N.C.; her dear friend, Joan Mysakowec of
Lynchburg, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Mercer Funeral Home on Tuesday evening,
October 26, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A Christian Wake Service will be
held at 7:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday October 27, 2010 at
11:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Paul Wharton
officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton where
Chance Lawrence, Bud Hager, Danny Gray, Ricky Wilson, George Leedy and Bill
Keys will serve as pallbearers.
